Rock and Roll Workshop is a one-man operation specializing in the design and construction of unique electronic instruments and effects pedals, as well as repairing and re-purposing unloved equipment. I build everything from fuzz pedals to analog synths to custom switching and one-off electronic devices. All devices are built by hand; I handle every aspect from circuit board design to painting to making silly flyers and maintaining this website.

All devices are constructed with the performing musician in mind, and they are designed to withstand the rigors of live performance. I don’t build anything I would be afraid to take onstage. All hardware is panel-mounted (not PCB-mounted), all PCB standoffs are tapped/threaded into the enclosure when possible, and all components are tested and selected by hand. Each device is plugged in and tested for function and tone upon completion, again before it’s boxed and shipped/sold, and comes to you with a warranty.

I don’t build anything that I couldn’t reasonably afford to buy. My main objective is to make affordable, rugged devices that give musicians options beyond off the shelf effects and boutique clones.

Since I’m a one-man shop, I can also occasionally afford to barter for things I need or want. Try me, you never know.

If you own one of my devices, feel free to let me hear what you’ve done with it or offer some feedback.

Thanks for the interest!

-Clay Davis
